Does Artificial Intelligence threat democracy?
Androids are protecting persons or are replacing them?
Yes, democracy is now the king being checked by A.I. If democracy doesn´t move its king to a safe position, A.I may checkmate it in the near future.
Regular people think that A.I is failing while extending the power of elites. But it doesn’t matter for this asexual brain, it’s in control, it knows how to keep people in “echo chambers” using its algorithms behind Facebook's newsfeeds, and Google’s search to produce on information to have their “ears tickled”. If someone doesn’t listen to something because he doesn’t want, no problem, A.I can offer only what he desires.
Twitter-bots can spread “fake news” carefully cultivated to make deeper and darker fear and suspicion of certain ethnic and religious groups. A.I is able to micro target groups, and then bots can seed misinformation and hate. A terrible consequence is that now voters are losing fact-based decisions.
In addition, the ability of A.I to segment population in groups where people have the same interest is creating an abyss between elite and “clay people”. A.I can exacerbate socioeconomic inequality in such a way, that rich people may live in a virtual world where “clay people” doesn’t enter because they are dirty.
Democracy must re-define itself to survive. Obscurantism, Middle Age, may be born again if democracy dies.
Bot citizens and experts have been paying much more attention to the social impacts of A.I, so they are making noise to alert population about the necessity of using A.I with responsibility, only for Social Good. A social loud voice like a sound of a trumpet is saying: “A.I for Social Good.” The louder the voice is the more benefits humans will obtain from A.I. It’s nonsense, this voice is too dummy to produce sounds, it only makes a loud noise.
Artificial neural network operating algorithms
People may want medical care for men and women with equal access. But this means different things for one who defends abortion from another who opposes abortion. What is good when natural disasters happen? For the elite it would be good to have a secure, paying for it monthly with direct debit. On the other hand, the poor may want social help without worrying about how to pay it.
Consequently humankind needs an innovation: Intelligent Democracy. I.D has a new social scale in which people can meaningfully participate to decide for themselves what is good or evil for all.
Humans only need to jump over two steps:
1. Start now deliberations about how to manage the future.
2. Must review the decision-making process.
Humanity needs a multiplicity of viewpoints, with mutual adjustment. Also needs coopetition of ideas, which is different from competition and from cooperation.
Humankind must take a gun to kill the top-down process. The elite being the brain and managing the body isn’t useful anymore.
I.D is lineal, none is up and none is down, all people are on the same level. Decisions are running in the same plane of the people in all directions.
This is a disruptive innovation, of course. But life is always changing, so democracy must mute to I.D or die.
